Gunther Karger
A leader in technology, corporate management, investment research and journalism. He served
in the United States Air Force, worked as a research engineer in aerospace communicatons, military intelligence,
aviation later becoming a corporate manager, author, lecturer and columnist in business ethics and fraud prevention.
Gunther was born in the Black Forest, Germany and escaped Nazi Germany in 1939
when his parents sent him on the last train of Jewish children to Sweden where he for seven years lived in foster homes and an orphanage.
He never again saw his family all of whom were killed in the Holocaust. Gunther received his Electrical Engineering
degree at Louisiana State University, worked in areospace and military intelligence communications receiving awards including
Outstanding Young Man of America after elected to Chairman of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers)
in New Jersey and Cape Canaveral during the "Moon Program" and Cold War. He served U.S. Air Force as an instructor.
He transferred his experience in telecommunications networks to the airline industry where he developed a revenue forecasting
system and managed it for 20 years at a major airline. Upon his retirement from aviation, he founded the Discovery
Group focused on investment research which eventually led him to discover the rampant unethical behavior and fraud committed by
stock brokers and corporate executives.
Karger is an author, columnist and has appeared
as a speaker on cruise ships and panelist on network TV including the CNN and FNN(predessor to CNBC). He is active in
local civic and political affairs having served in elective and appointed positions. Karger married Shirley of New Orleans
in 1954 and they have been married and partners in all their endeavors since.
